Take me down to Panama City

So we made it and in one piece. it was a long 4 days. About twelve hours at a time. We ran into a few problems on the way but mostly we just sweated. So we almost rattled the alternator right out of the car, but we caught it just in time with one of the three bolts still hangin on. Hmmm.. what else.. oh yeah rain is bad. everytime it does every roof seal we got turns into a unholy funnel of liquid terror. We also had a problem with the wipers, but we figured out that if someone holds it together while its running you can almost see out the window. Oh and Brendans feet stink. Other than that we´re doing alright, we´re in Panama City looking to find a boat to take us down the canal. So we´re off to knock the planks.

Getting underway

So we finally fixed the car and have made it as far as Tegucigalpa, for those of you who don't know thats the capital city of Honduras. Tommorrow we fix on pushin our luck and crossing over into Nicaragua. We're gonna be visiting a friend of Brendan's (who will be from now on be referred to as "B") in Leon. So while B and his friend catch up we'll be floatin around that part of the country for a few days. Then on to Costa Rica.

Breathing Life Into La Madre

Location: La Esperanza, Honduras (with occassional trips to Siguatepeque and beyond) Vehicle Status: Through the malicious actions of the harpes of fate, La Puta Madre has been struck down by a cracked cylinder head (a.k.a. our car is broken). May fortune shine upon us in our quest to nurse our wounded car back to health (a.k.a use more duct tape). Passenger Status: All are in high spirits despite the minor setback. We spend our days fixing up La Puta Madre, watching Sex in the City, and sustaining ourselves with a healthy diet of refried beans, tortillas, and tomato paste. Colin just had his first solid poo in days but is struggling to fight off gripe. Kiki´s Status: We have discovered that our plastic hula girl has features reminiscent of a Hawaiin hermaphrodite. Corrective surgery with soldering gun is planned for the near future. Notes: La Esperanza is beautiful this time of year.
